Inspired by a cherished childhood memory, "Taking Off" is a vibrant modern abstract art piece that reflects my fascination with insects and nature. As a young girl, I immersed myself in The Big Book of Bugs and dreamt of becoming an entomologist. My best friend and I spent hours exploring the woods, raising caterpillars in our homemade terrariums.

Echoing Picasso's sentiment that “it takes a lifetime to learn to paint like a child,” this colorful artwork reconnects with my innocent wonder. Featuring a collaged beetle in mid-flight against a backdrop of lush greens and golds, it captures the essence of that innocent joy and curiosity with mixed media.
